Description:
Automatically restricts guest access during high server loads.
This add-on will not work on shared web hosting plans, a VPS or dedicated is required.

How it works:
Every 10 minutes your server load averages are checked. If the server load exceeds the High load average set in the Options page, the add-on will set the Unregistered / Unconfirmed user group View No. At this point all visitors will see the "You must be logged-in to do that." message to continue viewing the forum.

Q: What problem does this solve?
A: When your forum has hundreds of AI bots all trying to scrape content, the forum slows down and logged in users suffer from slow page loads. This add-on will stop these AI bots by disallowing them to view the site for 1 hour.
Q: Will AI bots stop crawling my site?
A: No. They are sent a 503 status code which indicates the site is too busy and to try later. However many less sophisticated bots which are poorly coded use a "fire and forget" approach, they don't have a sophisticated scheduling queue. If they hit a 503, they don't "reschedule" and crawl later; they simply log the error and move on to the next site in their list.
